What we Sell

Ours is predominantly a spring calving herd. We aim to turn off bulls at either 18 months or 2 years and will list them for private sale in March or September each year. Incidentally, there is no “force feeding’ at Burnbend.  On the Goulburn flats our view is that in most circumstances our cattle should thrive on our pastures supplemented by our silage and hay. Our cattle will have been fed much less grain than is often the case, and they can be expected to live and work on a similar regime.

We will also sell females each year. In order to keep our herd to the desired size, each year we will be selling some heifers or mature cows, only because `we can’t retain them in the herd. Many of these females will be of the highest quality with excellent EBVs and they may well be sold PTIC to outstanding sires.

At Beef Week each year our herd, including bulls or females for sale, will be on display.
